Photography Competition - 2015



PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION



LJMBA is pleased to announce a photography contest, open for MBA students of all semesters.        
                                                          
Theme: “Life at LJ Campus”

Deadline for submission: 11:59 p.m. on 20th Oct; 2015

Size of photo: 4”× 5” or 5” × 7” @ 300 dpi

Judging: Shortlisted images will be judged by an eminent panel comprising those who understand and appreciate the art of photography, and will base their opinion on pure merit only. The final results will be declared within 10 days after contest deadline ends.

Prizes: The winners will receive a trophy and a merit certificate. All merit entries will be featured on LJ website and LJMBA Blog as well.

Rules of the Competition

Entries: A student can submit only one entry. When submitting your photo, please include your name, email address, enrollment no., semester and section.

Each photo/entry should be a JPG image and sent as a separate email to: ljphotos2015@gmail.com . Write “Photo Competition – Entry” in subject of the mail. 

· Originality & Copyright: All submissions must be genuine photographic images that are recognizable and not a completely created image. Digital retouching is allowed though restricted solely to simple color correction and cropping. Digitally manipulated images will be disqualified. All work must be original. Contest participants must affirm that submissions are their original work and that they are the holder of the copyright or that they have the right to copyright any and all photographs submitted to this contest. The copyright shall stay with the participant at all times and the images will not be used for any purpose by LJIMS or the coordinator of this contest except for purposes outlined here.

· All merit entries may feature on LJ Website and Blog: Participants will have to give their consent for their entries to be posted on LJ Website and blog. These may or may not be prize winning entries. Entries may be posted at any stage of the competition and will be open for anyone to see. Suitable credit will be given. Participants have the option to have their one line bio, contact information and web / blog address to be given in the credit line.

· Use of entries: Participants give their consent to allow the event coordinator to use their images for any purpose related to the contest including on their websites, blog, newsletters, case studies, event reports, etc. Due credit will be given to participants where the images are used.

· No Payment will be made to participants for use of images as stated above.

· Judges of the competition: The competition will be judged by two eminent personalities, viz. Ms. Anjali Sehra and Mr. Abhijit Chakraborty. 

Anjali Sehra is a Photographer, Designer & Founder of Divine - Digital Design.  She shoots Panoramic stills for Interior & Exterior, Landscapes, Portraits & Food. She's been doing Photography for over 9 yrs now & has got her Photographs displayed in various group exhibitions. She has shot 3500+ Panoramas at 320+ Properties at locations across India, in all categories including; Hotels, Resorts, Real Estate, Stores, Restaurants & Cafe. She's having the background of Multimedia, and has worked in 3d Animation Industry for 3 yrs. She has headed the Photography Department at Jindal RHM Interactive.  She also has an experience of teaching students & professionals and leading them as well.

Mr. Abhijit Chakraborty is an ace photographer, famous for his Theme and Product Photography.  He has experience of working in Hindi movies and also taught students at NIFD and NID.

· The decision of the judges will be final.

Report - Union Budget Quiz 2015



QUIZ ON UNION BUDGET 2015-16 - Report


The Union Budget is a mammoth task performed by govt. every year. It keeps the account of the government's finances for the fiscal year that runs from 1st April to 31st March. On 28th February 2015, LJIMS organized for the special screening of the Union Budget for their students to give them a hands-on experience of analyzing the budget which is a must do for any future corporate worker.
In the second phase of the screening, a Quiz Competition on Union Budget 2015-16 (including Railway Budget 2015) is organized to test the students’ knowledge on 27th March;2015. The opportunity was taken very enthusiastically by the students and 19 teams were registered for the event. In the elimination round, all participating teams were asked 20 questions and five top scoring teams qualified for the finals. The five final teams were, namely,

  • ·         Rajan ke Raghu Ram
  • ·         Jaitley ke Jack Lee
  • ·         Chidambram ke Cheethe
  • ·         Manmohan ke Pyare Mohan
  • ·         Jalaan ke Jalve   

Finals were consisting of 4 questions per team in the following five rounds:

  •   Ji Mantri Ji – Direct fact based questions on Union Budget 2015-16
  •   Pehchaan Kaun– Identify the Finance ministers on the basis of given clues
  •   Rail ka Khel - Direct fact based questions on Railway Budget 2015-16
  •   Janta ki Awaaz– Questions asked by audience (including faculty & students both)
  •  Question Express – Rapid fire round – Maximum answers to be given in one minute


In Janta ki Awaaz, besides students, questions were also asked by Dr. Neha Shah, Prof. Ramzan Sama, Prof. Dhrupa and Dr. Siddharth Das. After every round, there was question round for the audience and the right answers made them to win the chocolates. The event was anchored by MBA final year students Aditi Yagnik and Siddharth Iyer.




The winners were declared on the basis of final total score in all rounds. The winning team was Rajan ke Raghu Ram and the winners were Susheel Kumar and Haresh Rathod from Sem. IV – B(Noon) and the second winning team was Chidambram ke Cheethe comprising Nitesh Bhavsar and SagarVagadiya of Sem. IV – A(Noon) as the team members. The winning teams were felicitated with the trophies by Dr. Siddharth Das and Dr. Sushant Naggpal.

In the end, participating team members also shared their experiences. The convener of the event Dr. Sushant Naggpal proposed vote of thanks to all.

In nutshell, it was a holistic experience given by the institute to help the students to build their confidence and inculcate right mix of theory and practical that makes the students ready for the corporate world.
