Dilip Pandey, a fourth semester student of LJMBA, won Gold Medal in State Arm Wrestling Championship 2015-16 in 85kg category for consecutive second year. He will represent Gujarat State at National level to be held in Nagpur on 20-21 May 2016.

Aashka" - Interaction with LJMBA students on CNBC Bazaar
CNBC
Bazaar channel visited LJ Institute of Management Studies for
the shooting of their show on Personal Finance named "Get Rich with
Aashka". Popular TV actress Aashka Goradia, anchor of the show
interacted with finance students and faculty with famous Certified
Financial Planner, Arnav Pandya.
Basics of savings, investment and taxation aspects were discussed and questions of students & faculty were taken up by Mr. Arnav. The show will be telecasted in the coming weeks...

BAHRAIN
NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATIONS
AT
Gujarat
Technological University, Ahmedabad

GTU
has implemented a new Global MBA program since August 2011. Under this, GCSR
(Global Country Study Report) program has been introduced, as a 2-semester
study program during the 3rd and the 4th semesters of the MBA since 2011. In
GCSR the students and teachers study business interactions
For
the last three years, MBA students of GTU have been studying various aspects
like cultural, political, environmental, economic and demographical of
countries as well business interaction with all seven regions of the world
having the focus on developing countries. They identify the bilateral trade
opportunities of Gujarat and India with the country of study and propose a
detailed business plan to establish or improve the business in a specific
industry.
In the
academic year 2015-16, students of all MBA institutes affiliated to GTU are
studying more than 100 countries. Stepping forward with the objective of making
the GCSR program more efficient and interesting, GTU has started to celebrate
the National Day/ Independence Day of selected countries of GCSR program. This
year National Day celebration of Bahrain was organized on 23rd
January, 2016 along with National Day celebrations for 3 other countries viz. Argentina, Niger and Cameroon. Three
other institutes Parul Institute of Management (Vadodara), studying Argentina, Geetanjali Institute of Management (Rajkot) studying
Niger, SAL Institute of Management (Ahmedabad) studying Cameroon along with L. J. institute of Engineering and
Technology (LJIET) studying Bahrain, participated to represent the respective countries.
Total 26
students of LJIET of Semester IV participated in the event with great
enthusiasm and they were accompanied by two faculty members, Prof. Sweety Shah,
the country mentor for Bahrain and GCSR coordinator, Prof. Ravi Thakkar.
The
function was inaugurated with the felicitation of guests and lamp lighting
ceremony by Mr. J.C. Lilani, Registrar (I/c), GTU, followed by the national
anthems of India, Argentina, Niger,
Cameroon and Bahrain.

Mr.
J.C. Lilani, Registrar (I/c), GTU welcomed the audience and appreciated the
unique activity of National Day Celebration organized by Centre for Global
Business Studies and suggested participants to increase the involvement in
Global Country Study Report (GCSR).
Mr.
K H Patel- former Ambassador and High commissioner of many African countries
and member of GCSR Board of advisors told that the GCSR program is the unique
program in the Gujarat and such program should be followed by the other
Universities also. He appreciated foreign policy of new government of India. Dr.
Shivendra Gupta, Honorary Board of Advisor for GCSR shared his foreign
experience with students and said the students and faculty members should be
focused about country of study. Mr. Sunil Modi, Advisor- GCSR talked about
major Industries of countries and the opportunities for Indian Industries to
expand their businesses under ‘Make in India’. He also explained the importance
of GCSR in the Management Studies.
Dr. Kaushal Bhatt, Assistant Professor-GTU proposed
the vote of thanks to the speakers on behalf of GTU for gracing the National
day celebration and sharing their experiences with the participants and faculty
members of all four institutes.
In the Technical session, the students from all four
institutes presented the brief on the STEEPLED (Social, Technological, Economic, Environmental, Political, Legal,
Ethics and Demographic) Analysis done on
their respective countries, analysis of the prospective industries of the GCSR
country, Prospects in Gujarat and the same at the allocated other State of
India. The panel members Dr. Shivendra Gupta and Mr. Sunil Modi had given their
comments on the area of improvements with respect to the presentations on
specific country.
After the
technical session, students staged cultural performances on allocated country.
The students of L J institute of Management Studies had walked in the hall with
Flag-March. They also prepared the badges
of Indian & Bahrain Flags.
LJIET students successfully created the ambience of
Bahrain Culture during the celebration and marched on the National Anthem of
Bahrain and also showed a documentary on Bahrain. Students of SAL Institute of Management also performed
cultural dance of allocated country.
At the end of the celebration, Centre for Global
Business Studies- Gujarat Technological University presented awards to all four
institutes for their active participation in the National day celebration of Argentina,
Niger, Cameroon and Bahrain.
